Kaarmise

Kaarmise (German Karmis ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the rural municipality Saaremaa (until 2017: rural municipality Lääne-Saare ) in the Saare district .
Population, location and history
The village has 26 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2016). Its area is 11.18 km².
The place is twelve kilometers northwest of the island's capital Kuressaare . It was first mentioned in a document in 1592.
The 11.5 hectare lake Kaarmise järv lies north of the village center . With a maximum depth of only 60 cm, it is very shallow.
