Sõrve-Hindu (German Indo ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the Saaremaa rural community (until 2017: Salme rural community ) in the Saare district . Until the re-establishment of the Saaremaa rural community, the place was called "Hindu" and was renamed to differentiate itself from Hindu , as both are now in the same rural community.

Location and population

The village on the east coast of the Sõrve peninsula is 26 kilometers from the island's capital, Kuressaare . It has no more residents today (as of December 31, 2011).
