Suur-Randvere , until 2017 Randvere (German Randefer ), is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island of Saaremaa . It belongs to the rural municipality Saaremaa (until 2017: rural municipality Lääne-Saare ) in the Saare district . In 2017 Koidu , Põlluküla , Tamsalu and Viira became part of the village.

The place is seven kilometers northwest of the island's capital Kuressaare . It was first mentioned in a document in 1408 under the name Randeuer . During the Soviet occupation of Estonia after World War II , Randvere was the center of the "Lenin" collective farm , which specialized in agriculture and cattle breeding.
