Ohessaare (German Ohhesaar ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the rural community Saaremaa (until 2017: rural community Torgu ) in the Saare district .

Description and geography

The place on the west coast of the Sõrve peninsula has eight inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It was first mentioned in 1645.

The place is best known for a cliff that offers a wide view of the Baltic Sea . A 5.9 hectare landscape protection area has been around the place since 1959.

In the immediate vicinity is a historic windmill, which today serves as a café and small guesthouse.
