Kugalepa (German Kugalep ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the rural community Saaremaa (until 2017: rural community Mustjala ) in the Saare district .

Population and location

The former fishing village has only six inhabitants today (as of December 31, 2011). It is located 32 kilometers northwest of the island's capital Kuressaare on the Baltic Sea bay of the same name ( Kugalepa laht ).

The 5.3 hectare Liisagu Lake ( Liisagu järv ) is located near the village center . It is also called Kugalepa järv or Kruusmetsa järv .
