Mustjala (German: Mustel ) is a former rural community in the Estonian Saare district with an area of 235.97 km². It had 755 inhabitants (2009). In 2017 all municipalities on Saaremaa merged to form the new rural municipality Saaremaa .
Mustjala was in the northwest of the island of Saaremaa . In addition to the main town of the same name , the rural community included the villages of Jauni , Järise , Kiruma , Kugalepa , Küdema , Liiküla , Liiva , Merise , Ninase , Ohtja , Paatsa , Pahapilli , Panga , Rahtla , Selgase , Silla , Tagaranna , Tuiu , Vanakubja and Võhma .
The pristine beaches and forests attracted many tourists in the summer. Remains of human settlement from the Stone Age were found in Võhma in 1986 .
