Virita

Virita (German Viritel ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the rural community of Saaremaa (until 2017: rural community of Kihelkonna ) in the Saare district .
The village has twenty inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is just north of Kihelkonna .
history
A settlement from the late Neolithic has been found near Virita . The present village was first mentioned in 1453 under the name Viritell .
