Karujärv

East of Kuumi is the popular bathing lake Karujärv (in German "Bear Lake") with its six islands, including Linderahu . It is 3.3 square kilometers. Its greatest depth is 6 meters.

The following legend is related to the lake and its name:

According to legend, seven bears fought here until their grandfather, the highest celestial power in Estonian mythology , let so much water fall from the sky that the fight had to be ended and a lake was created at this point. Its seven bays are still reminiscent of the bears who got wet and ran away in a different direction.
