Mäebe (German Mäpel ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the rural community Saaremaa (until 2017: rural community Torgu ) in the Saare district . Mäebe is not to be confused with Viidu-Mäebe , which is also on the island of Saaremaa and was called Mäebe until 2017.

The place on the east coast of the Sõrve peninsula has 26 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011).

It is located 36 kilometers southwest of the island's capital Kuressaare .
