Church of Saint Innocent

The Pärsama Orthodox parish was founded in 1902. Today it is subordinate to the Estonian Apostolic Orthodox Church .

In 1908/09 an Orthodox church was built in Pärsama. The simple church made of yellow bricks was named after Saint Innocent (1797–1879), who was born near Irkutsk . The entrance to the nave is via the two-story bell tower.

The local cemetery is in the immediate vicinity. In 1981 a granite memorial was erected there for the soldiers of the Red Army who died in World War II . The design comes from the Estonian sculptor couple Aime Kuulbusch and Ants Mölder .
