Parasmetsa (German Parrasmetz ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the rural community Saaremaa (until 2017: rural community Leisi ) in the Saare district .

Population and location

The village has 47 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011).

It is located west of Leisi at the southern end of Parasmetsa Bay (Parasmetsa laht) . The estate was first mentioned in 1563, and later it belonged to the von Vietinghoff and von Rehekampff families . The distance to the island's capital Kuressaare is 36 kilometers.
