Rehekampff
Rehekampff is the name of the Baltic lines of the Riesenkampff (Risenkamp) patrician family from the Hildesheim monastery . It was first known in documents in the middle of the 16th century and expanded in the Baltic region (with a focus on the island of Ösel ), in Poland , Sweden , Finland and the Russian Empire . Judges , officials , officers and generals emerged from the various lines . One line was ennobled under the name Rosenkampff .
Name origin
The final syllable " kamp " is based on the old spelling of the family name Rysencamp, Riesencamp, Rysecamp and Risekamp and is based on the Latin "campus", which means "an enclosed, enclosed field" in Low German and Frisian.
history
Documented history began in 1542 with Jost and Jobst Riesencamp, who was a merchant and citizen of the city of Hildesheim . In Reval , the giant fights were mentioned in the second half of the 16th century, these were his sons Heinrich and Hans (Johann). Heinrich Riesenkampff immigrated to Reval around 1570, became a member of the Schwarzenhäupter brothers in 1572 and became a Reval citizen in 1578. His second son Hans Riesenkampff (* around 1590, † around 1642) is referred to as the progenitor of all Baltic branches and lines, followed by his son Jobst Riesenkampff and, in turn, his sons Johann Riesenkampff and Jürgen Riesenkampff. Johann became a Swedish cavalryman and was admitted to the Swedish nobility in 1687 . Hans Riesenkampff (Baltic progenitor) had the son Jürgen Riesenkampff (1630 - 1690) from his second marriage to Dorothea Watterhoff, his son Reinhold Johann Riesenkampff (1658 - 1689) was pastor of Goldenbeck , his sons were Georg Jürgen, Reinhold Johann and Gustav Reinhold . Georg Jürgen Johann Riesenkampff (1684 - 1727) became the progenitor of the so-called "Council Line"; Gustav Reinhold Riesenkampff (1658 - 1689) is considered to be the progenitor of the "Russian-Polish line", which continued the name "Riesenkampff". Reinhold Johann Riesenkampff († around 1739), who was the Swedish captain, continued the line in Estonia.
Next came Gustav Otto Riesenkampff (1730 - 1812), he was raised to the Roman imperial nobility in 1780 as Riesenkampff called Rehekampff and in 1783 entered in the nobility register of the Estonian knighthood . From now on they officially carried the name " von Rehekampff " and in 1845 they were included in the nobility register of the Ösel knighthood .
Possessions
Their estates included Mento , Parrasmetz , Arromois and Feckerort .
The Parrasmetz estate was first mentioned in 1563, later it belonged to the von Vietinghoff and von Rehekampff families. The wooden main building with an attic was built at the beginning of the 19th century. Today it is used as a residential building.

The coat of arms of those von Rehekampff, which was made according to the nobility diploma of 1780, is a split shield , in front a blue-gripped, left-facing battle ax standing in gold on a green lawn , behind in blue a wild man (giant) , with his right on a natural one Supporting club . Crest ornament depicts an armored arm over a crown with the club between two silver ostrich feathers . The helmet cover is blue-gold and blue-silver.
The coat of arms of those of Rosenkampff shows a horizontally divided shield, in the upper part there are three roses side by side in the red field. In the lower half is an armored arm with a sword sent to heaven in the silver field. The helmet is adorned with a stemmed and leafed rose, between two flags flying to the field on the right and left.
