Neemi (German Nemes ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the rural community Saaremaa (until 2017: rural community Pöide ) in the Saare district .

Population and location

The village has 21 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is 45 kilometers northeast of the island's capital, Kuressaare .

Dendrarium

In 1925, the local village blacksmith Mihkel Ranna (1871–1958) founded a dendrarium next to his house and the forge . Today it includes over two hundred different tree and shrub species.
