The house at Schöninger Straße 28 is a listed building in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located on the south side of Schöninger Strasse in the Sudenburg district .

Architecture and history

The four-story brick building was built in 1887 in the neo-renaissance style . The builder was the mason foreman and building contractor Carl Naumann. There was a shop and a restaurant in the house. On the courtyard side there was a dance hall and a lounge. The ground floor has a rusticated facade and is decorated with diamond blocks. On the first and second floors there are pairs of window frames in the two outer axes. They are decorated with balusters , shell ornaments and head herms. The distances between the windows on the plastered facade vary and are wider in the middle than between the outer axes. The building has a mezzanine , the facade is plastered. The building is covered by a flat roof .

As part of a partially preserved Wilhelminian style street, the building is considered to be significant in terms of urban development. The building is an example of the average standard of a house with rental apartments during the construction period in Sudenburg.

In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 82114 .
