Masa (German Massa ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the rural community Saaremaa (until 2017: rural community Pihtla ) in the Saare district .

Population and location

The village has nine inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is located seventeen kilometers northeast of the island's capital Kuressaare on the important connection road to the ferry port Kuivastu , which leads to the mainland.

On the map of the German Baltic cartographer Ludwig August Mellin from 1798 the village and the jug are listed under the name Mastla .
