Kavandi

Kavandi (German Kawandi ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the Saaremaa rural community (until 2017: Orissaare rural community ) in the Saare district .
Population and location
The village has fifteen inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is 44 kilometers northeast of the island's capital Kuressaare .
Personalities
The Estonian literary scholar Aarne Vinkel (1918–2006) was born in Kavandi .
