Suur-Pahila (German Groß-Pahil ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the Saaremaa rural community (until 2017: Orissaare rural community ) in the Saare district .

Population and location

The village has 23 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is 39 kilometers northeast of the island's capital, Kuressaare .

Cult stone

The place is best known for a cult stone , the Härjakivi . It points to an old sacred place of popular belief. The stone is under state protection.
