Reeküla (German Reeküll ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the rural community Saaremaa (until 2017: rural community Pihtla ) in the Saare district .

Population, location and history

The village has 25 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is nineteen kilometers northeast of the island's capital Kuressaare .

The village was first mentioned in 1560 under the name Ricko .

Prayer house

In the village there is a prayer house of the Estonian Methodist Church ( Eesti Metodisti Kirik ). The wooden Methodist church was consecrated in October 1935.
