Asva (German Aswa ) is a village ( Estonian küla ) on the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . It belongs to the Saaremaa rural community (until 2017: Laimjala rural community ) in the Saare district .

description

The village has twelve inhabitants (as of December 31, 2011). It is located 35 kilometers northeast of the island's capital Kuressaare . A lighthouse was in operation in the village from 1841 to 1917.

Bronze age

Excavations in the 1930s revealed a fortified settlement from the Bronze Age near Asva .
