Pihlalaid is an uninhabited island 500 meters from the largest Estonian island Saaremaa . The Baltic Sea island is located in the rural community of Saaremaa in the Saare district . The 6.46 hectare island is under nature protection. Its circumference is about two kilometers.

Pihlalaid is located in Soela väin (German Sele-Sund ), the strait between the two largest Estonian islands Saaremaa and Hiiumaa .

Pihlalaid is 500 meters from Soela Ferry Terminal . Administratively, the island belongs to the village of Pammana (German Pammerort ).
