Olinto Cristina

Olinto Cristina (born February 5, 1888 in Florence , † June 17, 1962 in Rome ) was an Italian actor .

Life

Cristina, the son of the actors Raffaello Cristina and Cesira Sabatini, began his career as a child in the company of Tina Di Lorenzo and Flacio Andò . Over the years he has belonged to numerous ensembles; major players were Ruggero Ruggeri , Emma Gramatica , Armando Falconi , Ermete Zacconi and Luigi Almirante . At the “Spettacoli Gialli” under Romano Calò , Cristina specialized in roles as “first character actor” and “all-rounder”.

Cristina made her cinema debut quite late, with the new Cines in 1932, but was a busy supporting actor until the late 1940s. He also devoted himself to numerous radio works and was in demand as a voice actor , the actors his voice as Edward Everett Horton , Frank Morgan and Alan Hale and Thomas Mitchell borrowed. In 1956, ending his film career, he was part of the premiere cast of Arthur Miller's witch hunt in the production of Luchino Visconti ; he stayed at the "Teatro delle Arti" and played with Elsa Merlini . During these years, the emerging television offered him opportunities to work under directors such as Silverio Blasi , Alberto Casella and Gianni Morandi , accepting television plays as well as theater films.

Cristina was married to actress Augusta Petoni and the older brother of the theater actresses Ines Cristina Zacconi , Ada Cristina Almirante and Jone Frigerio .
