In 2005 he became president of the VeV Switzerland association and in 2008 he founded the umbrella organization GeCoBi (Swiss Association for Mutual Parents), of which he became president.

As part of his mandate for VeV Switzerland, he became an active member of Pro Familia Switzerland in 2011 . In 2011 and 2012 he took part in the negotiations at the round table in the Federal Palace - to reorganize parental custody and maintenance law.

Hunziker is divorced, has 2 grown sons and lives in a blended family . He has lived in the canton of Aargau since 1999, including 8 years in the Seetal and since 2014 in Lenzburg.

positioning

Hunziker had a decisive influence on the father movement in Switzerland and influenced the political and social developments around separation and divorce and child issues. Through numerous media appearances and panel discussions, he has promoted the concerns of the father movement. He helped broaden the domestic violence debate to include male victims of domestic violence.

Hunziker sees himself as a representative of the men's movement only to a limited extent , for him the relationship between the sexes is in the foreground, especially the relationship after separation or divorce. His focus is mainly on the situation of children, from which he derives his political demands for the treatment of separated parents with one another.

Hunziker was particularly criticized by exponents of the women's movement at the beginning of his activity. He was accused of being close to the anti-feminist men's rights movement , from which he, however, distanced himself.
