Live and act

After finishing school in Bielefeld, Renelt studied industrial design at the University of Fine Arts in Hamburg with Peter Raacke and Dieter Rams . Oliver Renelt completed his studies in 1994 with a diploma at the HfbK Hamburg.

While still a student in 1991, Renelt won the tender from the Deutsche Phono Akademie eV to design the German Record Prize. He designed the trophy after having found a name for the event: "ECHO - The vibrations emanating from the artist that return as waves of success". In order to be able to freely implement the design, Renelt suggests producing the trophies as well. Between 1992 and 2018, Oliver Renelt produced the trophies for the "ECHO Pop" event, "ECHO Klassik" and "ECHO Jazz". The ECHO was considered the German equivalent of the US Grammy Awards and is one of the most coveted music prizes in the world.

After completing his studies, Renelt first worked as a sculptor. During this time he modeled the entrepreneur Kurt A. Körber for the Körber Foundation .

In 1998 Renelt co-founded the Kinderleicht GmbH and designed, among other things, the feeding frog, which was named Product of the Year by the Gesamtverband Kunststoffverarbeitende Industrie eV.

Since 2000, Renelt has created over 1000 designs for Tchibo GmbH, everyday objects that have helped shape German everyday culture.
