Oliver Schmidtlein (born June 24, 1965 in Bamberg ) is a German physiotherapist . Schmidtlein lived in the USA for a few years , which is where some elements of his fitness concept come from.

Professional career

Since July 2002 Schmidtlein has worked as a physiotherapist and rehab trainer for FC Bayern Munich . After Felix Magath and his team of coaches were fired on February 1, 2007, fitness training was also part of his area of ​​responsibility. After the 2006/07 season, Schmidtlein ended his commitment to Bayern to become self-employed . After a year break, Oliver Schmidtlein returned to FC Bayern Munich for the 2008/09 season under coach Jürgen Klinsmann as overall responsible fitness and rehab trainer. With Klinsmann's leave of absence on April 27, 2009, Schmidtlein also left the association and has since returned to his own practice in Munich.

Before joining Bayern, Schmidtlein worked for TSV 1860 Munich .

Parallel to his work in the club, Schmidtlein also belonged to the medical department of the German national team . Among other things, he developed, together with the American Mark Verstegen , the physio and fitness program for the German national players during the 2006 World Cup .
