Between the Hills
Between the Hills is a region of the Loudoun Valley in Loudoun County , Virginia . It describes the area of the Loudoun Valley west of Short Hill Mountain and east of the Blue Ridge Mountains .
Virginia Secondary Route 671, Harpers Ferry Road, runs north-south through the region from its southern end on West Virginia State Route 9, Charles Town Pike, west of Hillsboro , to its northern end on US Route 340, south of the Bridge over the Potomac River and east of Harpers Ferry . The parishes of Neersville and Loudoun Heights are in the Between the Hills region.
The Confederates - Partisan John Mobberly came from this region and could in the last two years of the Civil War US successfully fight through his ventures control of the region until April 1865 in the vicinity of Neersville was murdered.
