Ollerloh

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ollerloh (also Oellerloh ) was a village near Uetersen in the Pinneberg district .

The village of Ollerloh was first mentioned in a document from the 12th century and was located on a historic military road , near the former village of Uetersen. The inhabitants probably lived, like many people in the area, from agriculture and peat extraction. The place appears again later in 1234 in the fundatio of the Uetersen monastery . There the donation of a place rich in building block material in the area of Ollerloh for the construction of the first monastery church Uetersen is mentioned. The village was last recorded in writing in 1240.

Since there are hardly any written records from this period, it is believed that the village was destroyed by fire or arson after an attack around 1290. At that time, the area around Uetersen was frequently haunted by robbers and looters who moved along the Heerstraße. Despite intensive research into old records, it is no longer possible to determine exactly where the place was. Until about 1930 there was the assumption that the place was near Klein Nordende at the Liether Kalkgrube . This was refuted by the local researcher Hans Ferdinand Bubbe and after evaluations of old topography maps. In the 1970s, the remains of a settlement were found during construction work in Uetersen . At the time, it was not possible to confirm whether this was the village of Ollerloh.
