The Olson Firn Field is a firn field in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Churchill Mountains , it lies on the northwest side of the Cobham Range and feeds the Lucy and Prince Philip glaciers .
Scientists from a 1964-1965 campaign by the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition mapped it. It is named after Lieutenant Dennis Alvin Olson (1933-2008) of the United States Navy , who had flown the scientists to their missions in the Cobham Range, the Holyoake Range and the Queen Elizabeth Range .
