Olympia Traveler

The Olympia Traveler , also Olympia Traveler de Luxe (in the luxury version) is a mechanical typewriter that was manufactured from 1969 to approx. 1971 by the former Olympia-Werke AG in Roffhausen near Wilhelmshaven . The construction goes back to the Olympia Splendid 66 . From 1971 the production took place in Yugoslavia, also under the name Olympia traveler / de luxe. (See UNIS).

The case design comes from Alfons Boothby and Georges Joseph and was protected under US Patent No. USD220132 in 1969. The typewriter was manufactured (at least for foreign countries) until at least 1986.

The typewriter has 44 types, i. H. 88 characters. The machine has a carriage switch. In the “de Luxe” version with a stop regulator and 3-fold color zone switching , in the de Luxe S “version, it also had a setting tab .

The machine came in at least five colors: green, orange, red, blue, and white.

UNIS TBM

The machine was later manufactured by UNIS (Udružena Metalna Industrija) in Yugoslavia . Production started in 1971 in Bugojno , approx. 130 km northwest of Sarajevo .

AEG Olympia

The machine was available as an AEG Olympia variant, this machine was technically identical, but was manufactured by AEG . The AEG Olympia was only available in white.
