The Ralph Fox Battalion was a French battalion of the International Brigades in the Spanish Civil War and was part of the XIV International Brigade . The La Marseillaise Battalion was named Ralph Fox Battalion after a mutiny during the Battle of Brunete and was formed from May 1937. The Ralph Fox Battalion was designated N o 12 . It was named after Ralph Winston Fox . He was the first political commissar of the La Marseillaise battalion and fell on January 3, 1937 on the front section from Villa del Rio to Porcuna in the province of Cordoba .

The battalion was disbanded on February 23, 1937.
