Olympic Center

Olympic centers are support and service facilities for high-performance sport in Austria . In addition to the state and federal performance centers as well as the sports, army and university sports centers, they are a structural element within the support system of top-class Austrian sports.

Olympic centers in Austria

The Austrian base system currently has the following six Olympic centers:

  • Olympic Center Campus Sport Tirol Innsbruck
  • Olympic Center Carinthia, Klagenfurt am Wörthersee
  • Olympic Center Salzburg -Rif
  • Olympic Center Sportland Upper Austria, Linz
  • Olympic Center Vorarlberg, Dornbirn
  • Olympic Center Vienna-Schmelz

Situation in other countries

Germany

The German base system currently has 18 so-called Olympic bases .

Norway

In Norway there is a center in Oslo , the Olympiatoppen , which serves the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committees as well as the Norwegian Confederation of Sports and is responsible for the training of Norwegian top-class sport.

Switzerland

In Switzerland there is currently no special Olympic base, but efforts by the umbrella organization Swiss Olympic to establish an Olympic base for Switzerland in order to keep up with international developments in high-performance sport with new impulses.
