Omae wa Mada Gunma o Shiranai ( Japanese お 前 は ま だ グ ン マ を 知 ら な い ) is a manga series by Hiroto Ida that has been published in Japan since 2013. It was adapted as a miniseries in 2017 and as an anime television series in 2018 and belongs to the comedy genre . The anime became known internationally as You Don't Know Gunma Yet .

The series revolves around the experiences of middle school student Nori Kamitsuki, who is moving from Chiba to Gunma Prefecture. Before moving, he only heard rumors about the backwardness of the region and the strange people who live there. Once there, and above all in his school, he is then confronted with people who show extraordinary love for their homeland and its special features - and encounter strangers with suspicion or even hostility. He can only slowly establish contacts with the locals, with his friend Otoya Todoroki, who comes from here and whom he met in Chiba, help. The girl Kyō Shinooka makes it especially difficult for Nori, as she is a member of an association that wants to defend the Gunma culture against strangers. At the same time, Nori learns the cultural characteristics of the region, also in order to fit in better.

The series has been published by Shinchosha in the online magazine Kurage Bunch since October 2013 . This brought out the chapters in eight anthologies so far. Volume 3 sold about 20,000 times in the first week.

In 2017, a four-part mini-series was directed by Kaku Mizuno , in which Shōtarō Mamiya played the leading role. The real-life version was broadcast by Nippon TV from March 6 to 27, 2017 . A film followed on July 22, 2017.

In 2018, Asahi Production produced an anime adaptation of the manga, director and author was Mankyū . The character design was done by Tomonori Kogawa and the artistic direction was Hiroyuki Nemoto . The 12 episodes, each three minutes long, were broadcast from April 2 to June 23, 2018 by Gunma TV and Animax . At the end of each episode, a representative from Gunma Prefecture or one of the voice actors speaks a greeting in which he tells what he particularly likes about Gunma or why one should visit it.
