OnAir is a Swiss IT service provider. The company is based in Meyrin and has sales offices in London, Kuala Lumpur and Dubai.

It was founded in December 2004 by various airlines to operate a local, independent network for data and voice communication.

OnAir uses satellite connections via the Inmarsat satellite fleet for onboard services . The new Xpress system is to be introduced in 2015. In addition to the satellite networks, OnAir also uses direct air-to-ground links. The technology is intended to enable airline passengers and cruise lines to use their cell phones and laptops for calls, text messages, e-mails and to “surf” the Internet . By May 2014, OnAir services could be used in over 60 countries. Around 22 international airlines on five continents use the OnAir system. The company has 4,200 employees and sales of around $ 1.5 billion.
