The Celebrity Reflection ( German  mirror image or reflection ) is a cruise ship of the American shipping company Celebrity Cruises .

history

The ship was built on behalf of the Celebrity Cruises shipping company at Meyer Werft in Papenburg . Construction began on March 24, 2011 with the first steel cut. It was completed in autumn 2012. The Celebrity Reflection , which was undocked in August 2012, belongs to the Solstice class and was transferred over the Ems to Eemshaven on September 16, 2012 . The ship backed the overpass to Eemshaven, as this type of overpass had proven its worth in the past due to its better maneuverability. The ship managed the transfer with the assistance of two tugs . On October 9, 2012, the Celebrity Reflection was delivered to Celebrity Cruises .

Maiden voyage

The maiden voyage of the Celebrity Reflection started on October 12, 2012 in Amsterdam and led via Zeebrugge , Le Havre, Gijón, Vigo and Málaga until it ended on October 21, 2012 in Barcelona .

details

The Celebrity Reflection is 319 meters long, 37.4 meters wide and has a maximum draft of 8.60 meters. Of the 18 decks of the ship, 13 are passenger decks , on which 1,526 cabins are available for 3,046 passengers (with 2 people / cabin). More than 90 percent of the cabins are outside cabins and over 85 percent of the cabins have their own balcony. The ship is the fifth and last ship in the Solstice class . Compared to the four predecessor ships Celebrity Solstice (built in 2008), Celebrity Equinox (built in 2009), Celebrity Eclipse (built in 2010) and Celebrity Silhouette (built in 2011), the shipping company had a further half deck and a new suite type (AquaClass) and renovate the Sunset Bar and Sky Observation Lounge. As on the sister ships, more than 2000 square meters of real lawn for the Celebrity Lawn Club was laid on the Celebrity Reflection .

drive

The Celebrity Reflection is powered diesel-electric via two controllable propeller pods from the manufacturer ABB , each with an output of 20.5  MW . Four diesel generators from MAN Diesel & Turbo (type 14V48 / 60B / CR) and two emergency generators from Mitsubishi (type S16R) are available for power generation.
