Onaithos
Onaithos ( ancient Greek Ὄναιθος ) was a Greek sculptor who probably worked in the second half of the 5th century BC. Was active.
According to the report of Pausanias he created a statue of Zeus with his brother Thylakos , his son and the son of Thylakos, which was erected in the Zeus sanctuary at Olympia . The statue was a gift from the Megarians and stood in the area of an entrance to the Altis, which was near the Bouleuterion . Pausanias expressly does not give any information about the origin or the period of activity of the Onaithos, but his creative period is in the second half of the 5th century BC. Adopted.
