Ondřej Havelka (born October 10, 1954 in Prague ) is a Czech actor, director, singer and band leader .

Live and act

Ondřej Havelka studied at the Theater Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno . From 1976 to 1995 he directed the Originální Pražský Synkopický Orchestr, with which he performed at the International Traditional Jazz Festival Breda 1978 . In 1983 the album Jazz and Hot Dance Music 1923-31 was created . In 1995 Hawelka released the album The Swings (Monitor-EMI), with popular jazz standards such as Let Yourself Go , They Can't Take That Away from Me , It's Only a Paper Moon , Beat Me Daddy, Eight to the Bar, The Lady Is a Tramp , Sonny Boy and Night and Day . He then founded the swing band Ondřej Havelka a jeho Melody Makers , with whom he has presented a number of albums since 1995. He has also directed several opera productions (including Smetana's The Bartered Bride at the National Theater in Brno) and has appeared as an actor in films such as District Administration of “K” Prague (1982), Cesta kolem mé hlavy (1984, directed by Jaroslav Papoušek ), The Squids from the second floor (1986), Kafka (1991, directed by Steven Soderbergh ) and Saturnin (1994, directed by Jiří Věrčák ). In 2009 Havelka shot the documentary Poslední mohykán ( The Last of the Mohicans ), which tells the life story of Jiří Traxler .
