Ondjaki (* 1977 in Luanda ), actually Ndalu de Almeida , is an Angolan writer .

While still studying sociology in Lisbon - with a thesis on Luandino Vieira - he published his first volume of poems Actu Sangíneo in Luanda in 2000 , which was followed in 2001 by his first novel Bom Dia Camaradas . In 2006 he made the documentary Oxalá crescam Pitangas with Kiluanje Liberdade about his hometown Luanda. In 2008 he received the Grinzane for Africa Award for young authors, in 2010 his novel Avó Dezanove eo segredo do Soviético was awarded the most important Brazilian literary prize Prêmio Jabuti in the youth book category. In 2013 he received the Prémio José Saramago for his novel Os Transparentes . Odjaki lives in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil.
