The Prêmio Jabuti de Literatura (Jabuti Literature Prize) is the most widely awarded Brazilian literary prize .

The Jabuti Prize was created in 1959 by Edgard Cavalheiro , then President of the Brazilian Book Chamber Câmara Brasileira do Livro (CBL), to enrich and stimulate Brazilian literature. The award motivates readers and those interested in literature as well as authors, translators and illustrators, publishers, publishing houses and bookshops to jointly find and award the best works in around 30 categories each year. In Portuguese, jabuti means “little turtle”.
