Maria Arminda do Nascimento Arruda
Maria Arminda do Nascimento Arruda (born June 14, 1948 in Tombos , Minas Gerais ) is a Brazilian cultural sociologist .
Arruda dedicates her research to the intellectual, artistic and literary creation of Brazil as well as to mass communication . She has headed the Faculty of Philosophy, Literature and Human Sciences at the University of São Paulo since 2016 .
For her book Metrópole e Cultura - São Paulo no Meio Século XX (2001) she was awarded the Prêmio Jabuti de Literatura in 2002.
