One Mile Above is a Taiwanese film about a bike ride through the Himalayas. The student Shu-hao undertakes this tour as a substitute for his older brother Shu-wei, who had planned it for a long time but was unable to do it himself after his sudden death.

On his bike tour to Tibet, Shu-hao meets Xiaochuan, an experienced bike tourist who is at his side as an advisor and motivator. The two of them cross the border to Tibet secretly at night and stay with a widow, with whose daughter Shu-hao falls in love.

Awards

The film won the Artistic Contribution Award at its world premiere at the Tokyo International Film Festival in October 2011.
