Onegai Twins

Onegai Twins ( Japaneseお ね が い ☆ ツ イ ン ズ), also known as Please Twins , is his own anime and manga written by Yōsuke Kuroda and produced by Bandai Visual . Onegai Twins continues the popular Onegai Teacher series in parts. Some popular characters from Onegai Teacher appear, but otherwise the plot is stand-alone.

The story is about three teenagers, two of whom are siblings. While the three are trying to find out who is related, the two girls fall in love with their possible brother. The action takes place on Lake Kizaki in Nagano Prefecture on the Japanese main island of Honshu .

action

After the orphan Maiku Kamishiro moves into the house, which he identified as his parents' house based on an old photo, Miina Miyafuji shows up. She also has such a photo, which shows two children and the house. Since both are probably siblings, Miina moves in with Maiku. But on the same day, Karen Onodera, who also has a photo and believes to be Maiku's sister, appears. All three orphans now live in the house and try to find out who is related to whom.

In the near future, the two girls will start working because they want to support Maiku. Then they both go to Maiku's school. When they both find out that they have fallen in love with Maiku, they make a pact: They will not let anyone else get Maiku and once they know who is related to him, she will help the other to get together with Maiku.

The pact is also implemented when the supposedly gay boy Kōsei Shimazaki appears to be interested in Maiku. Tsubaki Oribe, vice president of the student council, is also courting Maiku. Even if the five of them are on vacation with other students, the situation cannot be resolved. But then it comes to light that Kōsei was once with Tsubaki when she was mourning the death of her brother. Both separated, however, because Kōsei was too impulsive.

But now it is possible to win back Kōsei Tsubaki. At the same time, Karen finds out that she is Maiku's sister. She makes an appointment to spend a nice afternoon with him and then tell him that they are related. In the end Maiku and Miina get together, Miina and Karen remain friends and the three continue to live together.

Characters

Maiku Kamishiro (神 城 麻 郁)

The protagonist of the story, Maiku, tends to be very secretive and stoic. He treats the two potential siblings roughly, often calling them fools and ordering them around. Later he shows a little more enthusiasm, but remains serious. He is a programmer and a high school student.

Miina Miyafuji (宮 藤 深 衣 奈)

Miina tends to have a hyperactive personality and annoys her surroundings from time to time. Eventually she develops feelings for Maiku, but she is afraid to act them out because she could actually be his sister. She is outwardly carefree, but actually hides things from her past.

Karen Onodera (小 野寺 樺 恋)

Karen is usually a very shy and anxious girl who even has a tendency to pass out when a situation overwhelms her. Karen often addresses her loved ones by title, such as Maiku with “Maiku- san ”. Like Miina, she also develops feelings for Maiku, but for the same reasons she does not live them out.

Conception

The story deals with the difficulty of the three young people living together without knowing how they relate to one another. The president of the student council, for example, criticizes Maiku for being so close to two girls who could not be his sisters.

The series continues in parts the manga and anime Onegai Teacher . The action takes place in the same place and many characters from Onegai Teacher appear in the supporting roles as cameo appearances. These are Ichigo Morino (森 野 苺), the president of the student council, who lives out her control mania and Matagu Shidō (四 道 跨), who tends to be incestuous. Furthermore Mizuho Kazami (風 見 み ず ほ), the teacher of the main characters and an alien, as well as her tiny companion Marie (ま り え). Also Kei Kusanagi (草薙桂) and Koishi Herikawa (縁川小石) as grocers have small appearances.

These cameos, such as those of Ichigo Morino and Matagu Shidō, are often comic . This is also created by the situations that arise in the unusual three-person household.

Bandai Visual produced the 12-episode television series in 2003 as the successor to Onegai Teacher. Directed by Yasunori Ide . Studio Doumu , GENCO and Studio Orphee were also involved in the production. The series has been translated into English and French , among others .

In 2004 a thirteenth episode was produced as OVA and released on DVD. This OVA takes place two weeks after the TV series ends and has also been translated into English.

For the series was as preload title of KOTOKO and Hiromi Sato Second Flight produced. The closing song is Asu e no Namida ( 明日 へ の 涙 ) by Mami Kawada . Both songs were also used in the OVA.

Manga

From 2005 Onegai Twins appeared in the Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine from MediaWorks as a manga. The drawings are from Akikan . The 300 page story was summarized in an anthology. This was also published by ComicsOne in the USA .

Light novel

2004 MediaWorks 2 Light Novels , written by Gō Zappa and illustrated by Taraku Uon and Hiroaki Gōda . ComicsOne also published the two volumes in the USA.

In the light novel, however, Maiku's sister is Miina, not Karen.

radio play

The radio play Onegai Friends by Bandai Visual was published in 2004 as an offshoot . It runs for 68 minutes and is directed by Hiromi Kikuta.
