Ayako Kawasumi ( Japanese 川 澄 綾 子 , Kawasumi Ayako ; born March 30, 1976 in Tokyo Prefecture ) is a Japanese voice actress ( seiyū ) and J-pop singer. She works as a voice actress for the Ōsawa Jimusho agency .

Life

Ayako Kawasumi started playing the piano at the age of 3 . She later graduated from the Tōhō Academy of Music .

In 1996 she won a scholarship for the Yoyogi Animation Gakuin ( 代 々 木 ア ニ メ ー シ ョ ン 学院 ) at an SME audition, where she was trained as a voice actress .

She made her dubbing debut in 1997 in episode 33 of the anime Taiho Shichau zo as a nameless policewoman. In 1998 she got her first major role as Melfina in Seihō Bukyō Outlaw Star . Her breakthrough came in the same year with the role of Natsuki Mogi in Initial D First Stage and a year later as Akari Kamigishi in To Heart .

Ayako Kawasumi is considered a good piano player. During the production of the soundtrack to Seihō Bukyō Outlaw Star, she was asked to compose a piano piece for this, after which A Date was created. In the anime Piano , she not only played the piano-playing lead actress, but also composed a number of background songs and the opening credits ... to you . In Nodame Cantabile she also played a piano player in a leading role; here Megumi Noda. Under this role name she composed and co-wrote the interlude Onara Taisō . In February 2007 she also played this at the Nodame Orchestra Concert.

voice

Unlike many other Japanese voice actors who often speak in a high-pitched voice, she sticks to her natural soft and nasal voice. Although she barely changes her voice, she still speaks a variety of role types.
