The Ong Valley is an 8 km long and mostly ice-free valley in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . In the Miller Range , it is immediately west of Kreiling Mesa .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the valley in 1966 after the engineer John S. Ong, who was involved in the traverse to the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station from 1962 to 1963 as part of the United States Antarctic Research Program .
