Onni Peltonen

Onni Evert Peltonen (born September 27, 1894 in the rural community Jyväskylä , † September 11, 1969 in Jyväskylä ) was a Finnish politician of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Peltonen was the son of Henriikka Juusonen and the blacksmith Joonas Peltonen . After attending school, he worked in various professions in the years before the war. Among other things as a metal worker, employee in the railway and as a firefighter. In the Finnish Parliament Peltonen had 1933-1961 mandate. After the war, between 1945 and 1952, he was Finland's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure three times. From 1954 to 1956 he was Minister of Social Affairs.

Between 1931 and 1956, Peltonen was also elected six times in a presidential election.
