The Ooldea-narrow-foot bag-mouse ( Sminthopsis ooldea ) is a species from the genus of the narrow-foot bag-mouse ( Sminthopsis ), which is endemic to Australia.

description

This robbery is very similar to its relative Sminthopsis hirtipes . The fur color is gray-yellow on the back, white on the belly with dark spots on the head and forehead. The tail is only sparsely hairy and carrot-shaped. The total body length is between 115 mm and 173 mm, with the tail making up 60 mm to 93 mm of length. The ear length is 14 mm to 17 mm. The weight varies between 10 g and 18 g.

Distribution & habitat

The distribution area of ​​this narrow-footed pouch-mouse extends from the Tanami desert in the Northern Territory in the neighboring areas of Western Australia to Ooldea in South Australia ; the epithet ooldea refers to this place . The species inhabits arid eucalyptus and acacia forests , grassy hilly areas and bushland.

Reproduction

The eight boys are born between September and November. No more is known about reproduction. The species is nocturnal and lives in holes in the ground and hollow tree trunks.
