OpenSSO

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Open Web Single Sign-On Project (short: OpenSSO ) is a tool developed by Sun Microsystems to manage a uniform logon for different applications and Java applications (identity management with single sign-on ). The open source software has its origin in the commercial Sun product Java System Access Manager , which is now sold as OpenSSO Enterprise . The software is subject to the Common Development and Distribution License (CDDL) .

After the acquisition of Sun by Oracle, the latter company announced that it no longer wanted to sell the commercial OpenSSO version in the medium term, but would instead rely on its own web access management product.

With the company ForgeRock a provider has been found who wants to further develop the product under the name OpenAM and offers support.
