OperaBrass is one of the chamber music ensembles of the Bavarian State Orchestra . The ensemble first performed together in May 1996. The official establishment took place in 2003.

Instrumentation and repertoire

The line-up consists of four trumpets and trombones, a horn, tuba and drums. The repertoire extends over the most diverse stylistic epochs and includes commissioned arrangements as well as own arrangements by the trumpeters Andreas Öttl and Frank Bloedhorn.

Appearances

  • OperaBrass plays regularly as part of the chamber concerts of the Bavarian State Opera .
  • Once a year OperaBrass can also be heard during the Festival Night of the Munich Opera Festival.
  • In 2006 OperaBrass gave a concert with the King's Singers in the Prinzregententheater, Munich.
  • In 2007 the ensemble performed at a concert in the La Seu Cathedral in Palma .
