Season 1 of "Oprah's Next Chapter" debuted on OWN ( Oprah Winfrey Network ) on Sunday, January 1, 2012 at 9:00 pm ET with Aerosmith front man Steven Tyler.
During the first season, Oprah visited Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler at his New Hampshire home, she traveled with Sean Penn to Haiti, where more than 300,000 people died in a devastating earthquake two years ago. They toured the Skywalker Ranch by George Lucas and was also the first season a slumber party with the American chef Paula Deen. Oprah also traveled to a small town in Iowa where she studied mediation.
The second part of the first season was broadcast in the summer of 2012. Here Oprah visited How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris at his home in Los Angeles.
