Oquitoa is a village in the Mexican state of Sonora with 411 inhabitants and the administrative center of the Municipio Oquitoa . It is located in the northwest of Sonora between Atil , Trincheras and Altar .

history

In 1689 the village was founded under the name San Antonio de Oquitoa . The founder is said to have been the Jesuit missionary Eusebio Kino .
