Orchon Ich SurguulЬ ( Orkhon University , Mongolian ОРХОН ИХ СУРГУУЛЬ ) is a non-profit, private university in Ulaanbaatar , Mongolia . The founder Khajidsuren Nyamaa founded the university in 1992 as the Orkhon Institute of Foreign Languages ​​and Secretarial Training . In 1998 a branch was set up in Dzavchan -Aimag (Завхан Аймаг, Zavkhan). The postgraduate program was introduced in 2002. The language of instruction is Mongolian , but there is a strategic plan to switch to bilingual training in Mongolian and English.

Orkhon University's buildings are located in the Khan Uul (Хан-Уул) district of Ulaanbaatar. On the site there is an academic building , cafeteria , auditorium , lecture hall building , library , computer rooms and student dormitories for students and employees.

organization

The university is run by a volunteer board of directors made up of prominent Mongolian leaders from a wide range of roles. The board of directors is a trustee of the university and is an autonomous group with its own guidelines.

Education

The university is divided into three faculties (schools):

  1. School of Humanities
  2. School of Law
  3. School of Economics and Business Management.

It offers more than 20 undergraduate degrees, as well as masters degrees in Accounting , Linguistics , Education , Business , Law , Social Work, and Public Administration . There are doctoral programs in Education, Linguistics, and Accounting.

Secondary School

The university operates an affiliated K-12 school , the Orkhon School , which currently trains around 350 students. The school has certificates for the Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) at primary and secondary levels.

International partnerships

Orkhon University has partnerships with Gimcheon University , Daegu University , the American University in Bulgaria , Ōtani University , Tokyo University of Social Welfare , the Soros Foundation , as well as with the American Peace Corps .

Affiliation and accreditation

Orkhon University is Vice president for international affairs in the Consortium of Universities and Colleges of Mongolia and is accredited by the Mongolian National Council for Education Accreditation .
