Organ pipes (Namibia)

The organ pipes at Khorixas

The so-called organ pipes are located near the Burned Mountain west of the city of Khorixas in Namibia . It is used to describe a collection of standing basalt columns reminiscent of organ pipes .

The organ pipe was created around 150 million years ago when liquid lava penetrated a shale rock formation that was exposed over time by erosion .
